“Breakfast with” started off with a roundup of interviews from blogs I’ve followed since day 1. Every month I would pluck another favorite off the list + email away! As the months have progressed + my list has dwindled, I’ve tried to actively seek out new bloggers to interview. The result? I growing list of beloved sites! I discovered Ellen’s A Pop of Pink a couple of months back; her content is a breath of fresh air, + I am so excited for you to meet her. Let’s chat!
Hi Ellen! Thanks so much for chatting with me this morning! Would you mind giving a quick introduction?
I’m the author behind A Pop of Pink, a fashion and (life)style blog. When I’m not blogging about my favorite trends, I’m working in public relations and digital marketing.
Since you are a blogger, I will take a guess + say that you are also a big fan of social media. What would you say your favorite platform is?
Instagram is without a doubt my favorite platform. I love the visual aspect of this story telling platform, and it’s amazing to see the beautiful images that users are capable of creating!
I must admit, what first drew me to your blog is the look. Your site is clean + chic, + all the photos are such high quality! Would you say you put a lot into the overall look of your brand? How would you describe your online image?
This is such a great question and one that I’ve never been asked before! I definitely try to maintain consistency on my blog and social platforms. When I redesigned my site, I wanted it to be clean and easy to navigate, so that my photos and content could really shine. If I had to describe my online image, it would be clean and classic, and pink of course!
Give us a quick rundown of your morning routine. What does the beginning of your day look like?
I typically check my phone – read emails, browse social platforms, etc., before getting out of bed. I know, it’s bad. Then I’ll get ready for the day before going downstairs for coffee, breakfast, and Good Morning America. I wake up early enough so that I can ease into my day and have a little “me time” before heading off to work.
If you had to pick three stores to shop at for the next 5 years, which would you choose + why?
J.Crew, Lilly Pulitzer and Nordstrom. Nordstrom has my favorite brands and includes high and low pieces. J.Crew has the classics I love – plaid, stripes, gingham. It’s really easy to build a wardrobe with J.Crew. And always Lilly Pulitzer because of how confident and fun I feel whenever I wear their clothes.
What would you attribute your online success to?
Patience and a willingness to grow my following organically has always been really important to me. I may not have as many followers as others, but I know the people who are coming to my blog or Instagram every day are engaging with my content. Blogging has always been something that I’m passionate about and do for me, and if you do that, I think the success, however you define it, will come naturally.
Last, but never least, if we were having breakfast right now, what would you be eating?
Avocado toast without a doubt! Or, if I need a healthy, quick meal, a smoothie!
Thank you, Ellen for being here today!
