Happy 4th of July!
I love this holiday for a lot of reasons, one of which being just how low-key it can be: grilling up some burgers, swimming, and watching fireworks are all I need for a wonderful 4th of July celebration. But I also love it because of the time it offers to appreciate how lucky so many of us are to live in this amazing country; I love the American pride and patriotism rallied around this day.
As you are enjoying the festivities, also think about taking just a little time today or tomorrow to find gratitude for what you’re celebrating, and for the people who fought to give it to you. Some ideas include…
Writing a letter to a solider: Get your family & friends in on it too! What better way to pass the time as your BBQ cooks?
Donating to a charity you’re passionate about: Whether that’s Girl Scouts, Planned Parenthood, or Boston Children’s Hospital, celebrate the fact that we have so many organizations fighting for a cause here, that you have the freedom to support.
Purchasing something at a local store, American made: This one is a win-win all around, since you have an excuse to do some shopping, plus you’re supporting the American dream in the process!
Happy 4th again, friends!
