1. Date nights
As August appears, I think the realization of college has set in more strongly for Andrew and I. While we are both thrilled to be going to a school we love, after 5 years of being 2 minutes away from each other, only seeing each other every month is going to be different. I know we are so much luckier than many, but any sort of distance in a relationship is hard. We’ve been making an effort to get out on those date nights after work; most recently was a mini golf adventure at Kimball Farm!
2. Holy Cross
Speaking of college, my mind is in full-on Holy Cross mode. I went twice last week- once with Andrew to visit, and again with my friend who is also attending, and her parents! My last trip to the bookstore only resulted in one water bottle. I’m learning self-control. Also this week the class of 2021 registered for fall classes! I was super lucky and ended up with everything I wanted: History of Medicine, Philosophical Inquiries, Intro to Bio, and Exploring Differences.
3. Happy birthday, Mom!
Yay for Mom! We celebrated Mom’s birthday last weekend with a delicious dinner out and some even better cake. I got her this necklace, since she is a total boss of a Mom :).
Tomorrow I’m running the Boston Spartan Super, and while racing usually doesn’t leave me nervous, I’ve been stressed about this one all week. Fingers crossed for a fun, safe, and successful run!
