With nothing truly planned for this July 4th, my past Saturday and Sunday consisted of spur of the moment planning decisions. The weekend turned out to be tons of fun; my family had adventures in Boston as well as Rhode Island. On the fourth, we ventured up to Faneuil Hall and Quincy Market. Good food, entertaining street performers and historic sites contributed to the day’s success.
I am in love with the pants I wore! They are from Willi Smith. We stopped at Bell in Hand for lunch, a restaurant founded in 1775! I had to end our time in Boston with a treat. Ice cream sandwich anyone?
Sunday the family headed to Second Beach in Rhode Island to soak up the sun and warm water. I was pleasantly surprised at how gorgeous and white the sand was. For anyone considering going to this particular beach, the line to get in around 12 o’clock was HUGE. I would say it spanned for at least 2 miles, and would probably take hours to get through. Arrive early! We got there at about 9:15 and the beach was starting to fill up.
The view from a hidden gem above the populated beach.
Overall, this year’s fourth was one to remember. Happy birthday America! 🙂
